Sowers will lead training, support and collaboration with clinical teams working with K-12 schools.
VocoVision, the nation’s leading source for online speech, language and occupational teletherapy, announced today that it has appointed Jaime Sowers as clinical manager. Based in Denver and reporting to Managing Director Melissa White, Sowers will be responsible for training, supporting and collaborating with VocoVision educators and working with school districts to ensure exceptional educational services to K-12 students with the greatest needs.

He will play a vital role in enhancing our services to the teachers, therapists and clinicians who are making a difference in the lives of the students they serve.”
As a former special education director who has faced staffing and budget challenges, Sowers has firsthand experience identifying creative solutions so students have access to all facets of education. He has successfully collaborated with district school partners to implement educational programming that positions educators for success, increases parent engagement and ensures the best possible outcomes for students.

Sowers brings to VocoVision nearly 20 years of experience in the education industry, with a focus on special education. He is a veteran K-12 educator and administrator and has experience teaching elementary, middle and high school students.
Before joining VocoVision, Sowers served as special education director with Santa Fe Public Schools in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In that role, he managed 75 staff members, including school psychologists, principals, related service providers and others serving students with disabilities. Before that, he was an educational consultant with Monte Del Sol Charter School in Santa Fe.
Sowers earned a Doctor of Education degree from Wilmington University and a Master of Education degree from Mansfield University. He received his bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Wilmington University.
Outside of his work with VocoVision, Sowers is a member of the Council of Administrators of Special Education and is a part-time faculty member with the Teacher Education Department at San Jose State University. He also serves as a mentor for high school drumming students.
