We are excited to invite applications for a fully remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized support and instruction to students with visual impairments in a remote setting. This role involves working directly with students, families, and educational staff to deliver tailored educational experiences and ensure each student’s academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, focusing on subjects such as literacy, braille, and adaptive technology.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to support and enhance the educational experience.
  • Conduct virtual assessments to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to instructional methods.
  • Utilize various digital platforms and assistive technologies to facilitate engaging and effective remote learning.
  • Offer guidance and training to parents and caregivers on how to support their child’s learning at home.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in visual impairment education and remote teaching techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Oklahoma.
  • Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired students, preferably at the elementary or middle school level.
  • Proficiency in braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with virtual teaching tools and platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a remote classroom effectively.
  • A strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
