VocoVision presents an exciting remote sign language interpreting opportunity, serving a school district in Boise, Idaho. This fully remote role allows you to work as an independent contractor. To be considered for this position, we require a minimum of two years of school-based interpreting experience.

Minimum Requirements:

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Educational Interpreting.
• Possess an EIPA rating of 3.50 or above, with a preference for a completed written portion.
• The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) National Interpreting Certification (NIC) is preferred.
• Maintain professional liability insurance coverage.

Here are some additional details about this role:

• Our contracts operate under an independent 1099 structure.
• Your caseload will encompass students in grades 1-12 with mild to moderate symptoms.
• You can choose between full-time or part-time hours based on your availability.
• Total weekly hours will range from 15 to 40, covering both direct and indirect services.

Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing virtual sign language interpretation services in real-time during virtual meetings, conferences, webinars, and other online events for both faculty and students.
• Adhering to strict ethical standards of confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy when working with individual students and faculty members.
