Position Details:
- Part-time (1-3 hours per week)
- Immediate start
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students using remote, adaptive teaching methods.
- Teach orientation, mobility, and other adaptive skills via virtual platforms.
- Work with parents, educators, and a multidisciplinary team to address each student's vision-related needs.
- Stay current with assistive technologies and incorporate them into remote lessons.
- Create an inclusive and supportive online learning environment for visually impaired students.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments
- Valid Alabama teaching certification
- In-depth knowledge of visual impairments and their impact on learning
- Proficiency with Zoom and related technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
